SMART Line
We design and build custom hardware solutions to ensure maximum operational efficiency.
Devices, tested and validated in the field, have the CE marking. They ensure 100% accurate readings, eliminating uncertainties and ensuring the perfect correspondence between what happens in the supply chain and what is recorded in the IT systems.
SmartGate RFID
A solution designed for mass reading of TAGs, used during the shipping and order fulfillment phases. This system ensures immediate traceability of the production batch, improving efficiency and precision.

SmartSpin RFID
It integrates a component designed to rotate up to 130°, ensuring reliable TAG reading even in the most hostile environments, such as the presence of metals, TAG shielding and signal polarization.

SmartPick RFID
A device designed to quickly and accurately detect the products inserted into it, thanks to the use of RFID technology. It is mainly used during the order preparation phase, where it allows for the automatic verification of the items picked, minimizing errors and increasing operational efficiency.

“ We have noticed that the variability in tag readings is among the main obstacles to RFID adoption by Italian companies. Ensuring devices capable of reading 100% of tags means allowing companies to access the numerous advantages guaranteed by the technology. ”

Muletto Smart 4.0: Integrated System for Warehouse Traceability and Localisation
CUP: H29J25000010008 — COR: 24073010 Grant Agreement: MADE-PNRR25-011-24760
Project Description
Csolutions S.a.s. di Cinaglia Raffaele & C. developed "Muletto Smart 4.0", an integrated system for the automatic identification and real-time geo-localisation of goods handled in warehouse environments by forklift. The system mounts UHF RFID readers and UWB (Ultra-Wideband) technology directly on the forklift, eliminating manual scanning and verification during picking and stocking operations. The continuous, automated data flow connects label printing, product identification and physical localisation within the warehouse, transmitting information in real time to the WMS and the company's MES.
Objectives
The project developed and validated a scalable technological solution, transferable to manufacturing and logistics companies, for the automatic traceability of goods during forklift handling operations. Activities were structured across four phases: preliminary analysis and system requirements definition (WP1), device procurement and architecture design (WP2), installation and testing of the integrated system in a simulated environment (WP3), and operational validation with final technical documentation (WP4).
Results Achieved
As of 28 February 2026, the project was completed across all Work Packages, with full operational validation of the integrated system.
The RFID subsystem achieved a 100% read rate under static conditions and demonstrated robustness in high-density multi-tag reading, with read times of approximately 7 ms per single tag and up to 80 ms for inventories of around 20 tags in a clean environment. Under moderate interference, times increased to 30 ms (single) and 190 ms (bulk), with no systematic EPC loss detected. Tests conducted in the presence of racking confirmed a read rate at or above 95% with zero cross-reads.
The RTLS-UWB subsystem delivered stable decimetre-level positioning accuracy, with a mean error between 18 and 22 cm and a maximum error of approximately 50 cm, consistent with the project benchmark of 30 cm. System continuity requires a minimum of 4 anchors, a requirement confirmed through degraded-scenario reconfiguration testing.
The orientation module, based on UWB triangulation via two transponders, provided a stable and consistent reading across 360°, with a mean angular deviation between 8° and 12°, characterised by a systematic offset that is compensable through software calibration.
The software architecture, built on an Asset Analytics middleware with Node-RED flows, provides data aggregation, dashboard visualisation, local storage in CSV format and data exposure via REST API.
